New buyers were granted a stamp duty exemption in the latest Budget announcement, allowing you to write off Stamp Duty on the first £300,000 of your first home! This means if you are a first-time-buyer, you will save up to £5,000.
Meanwhile those buying homes worth up to £500,000 will pay no stamp duty on the first £300,000.If the property you are buying is worth over £500,000, you will pay the standard rates of Stamp Duty.
